Sadvit is a family-run press near Warka, Poland, making juices only from fruit and vegetables - no water, sugar, or flavour enhancers.

The bottle holds 95% beetroot juice and 5% lemon juice. The lemon does not add sweetness - it lifts the flavour and keeps the deep red colour intense. The juice is cold-pressed and pasteurised, without water or concentrate.

The taste is earthy and lightly sweet, exactly what anyone who knows beetroot from the kitchen would expect. Citric acid from the lemon juice cuts through the earthiness and makes the whole thing more refreshing. About 1.7 kg of raw produce goes into every litre of juice, so a 250 ml bottle holds over 400 g of fruit and vegetables.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle before pouring.
2. Drink chilled, on its own or blended with apple and carrot.
3. Use as a borscht base - season with garlic, marjoram, and vinegar to taste.
4. Add a spoonful to a dressing for a deep colour and sweetness.

Storage

Store in a dry, shaded place between 2 and 20°C. Once opened, keep the bottle in the fridge and use the juice within 48 hours - without preservatives it will not keep any longer.
