Olvita Cold-pressed Camelina Oil is 100% oil from the seeds of the camelina plant (Camelina sativa). Cold-pressed by Olvita Gołuch in Marcinowice. Free from flavourings, colourings, preservatives and lactose. Vegan.
Camelina sativa (commonly known as rydz or lnianka) is a Polish oilseed plant, known in traditional Polish cuisine for centuries – in the past, camelina oil was used on bread with fresh quark or with herring just as naturally as olive oil is used in salads today. It has an aromatic, spicy flavour with a slight hint of onion – this is not a neutral oil that blends into the background; it brings its own character to the dish.
Camelina oil is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid, ALA). Alpha-linolenic acid helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2 g of alpha-linolenic acid – one serving (8 g, 2 teaspoons) of this oil provides this amount.

Usage
Oil for cold dishes: for marinated herring, roast potatoes, cottage cheese. A classic Old Polish dish – a topping for wholemeal bread, white cheese, cooked groats or potatoes with dill. The spicy flavour goes well with vegetable salads, cucumber and tomato salads. Vegan.
Directions for use
Directly: 2 teaspoons (8 g = one serving) per day – drizzle over wholemeal bread, cottage cheese, cooked groats or potatoes. Old Polish dressing: 2 tablespoons of camelina oil + 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar + a pinch of sea salt + fresh dill or chives. For herring: drizzle over marinated herring just before serving. Do not heat – high temperatures degrade valuable unsaturated fatty acids. 250 ml bottle = approx. 29 servings.
Storage
Store in a dark, cool place. Once opened, store in the fridge. The oil may become cloudy or solidify at low temperatures – this is a natural phenomenon and is fully reversible. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
